#1 ON BILLBOARD EUROPEAN ALBUM CHART

AC/DC continue to dominate charts worldwide with AC/DC Iron Man 2, the official soundtrack to this summer’s blockbuster movie.

iron_man_2_ac-dc_albumReleased globally on April 19, AC/DC Iron Man 2, debuted at #1 in fourteen countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, New Zealand, Greece, Sweden, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. AC/DC Iron Man 2 also scored top ten debuts in twenty six countries worldwide, including Canada (#2), Denmark (#3), Argentina (#3), Australia (#2), U.S. (#4), Spain (#4), Italy (#4), Norway (#4), Netherlands (#4), Spain (#4), Hungary (#4), France (#5), Finland (#5), Poland (#5), Mexico (#5), Thailand (#7), and Portugal (#9).

Available in a Collector’s Edition, Deluxe Edition, CD and Double LP album, AC/DC Iron Man 2 features classic AC/DC tracks from 10 of the band’s studio albums ranging from 1976 to 2008. AC/DC Iron Man 2 Collector’s Edition includes a limited edition reprint of the 1968 “The Invincible Iron Man” #1 comic book, with a variant front cover featuring AC/DC. The book is illustrated by Marvel artist John Romita Jr., and features an Angus Young illustrated cartoon on the back. The AC/DC Iron Man 2 Collector’s Edition also includes a foil stamped, 32 page hard cover book featuring liner notes from David Fricke, an AC/DC poster and AC/DC stickers. Based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero, “IRON MAN 2″ continues the story of 2008′s box office smash hit “IRON MAN,” which grossed nearly $600 million worldwide, and was the first feature film produced independently by Marvel Studios. “IRON MAN 2” is being produced by Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige. Marvel’s “IRON MAN 2″ opened internationally on Wednesday April 28 and came in at #1 in 52 countries, grossing a reported 100.2 million dollars in just five days. Iron Man 2 opens in the U.S. on May 7.

The Answer, from Northern Ireland, has been selected to continue as the only opening act for the final North American encore leg of AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour. The itinerary kicks off October 1st at the US Airways Arena in Phoenix, AZ and concludes on November 8 in Houston, TX at the Toyota Center. The Answer will also headline their own club shows on off days throughout the tour.

The Black Ice World Tour represents The Answer’s third tour of America with AC/DC. Their mammoth sound is often compared to Black Crowes and Free, and is fully primed for stadium and arena shows. In Europe, they’ve opened concerts for the Rolling Stones, The Who, Aerosmith and just completed a tour of Europe with AC/DC. In addition, the group has headlined tours in the U.K., Europe, Japan and Australia.

“Everyday Demons” is The Answer’s explosive new album which was released on March 31st on The End Records, distributed through RED and was recorded in summer ’08 in Los Angeles with John Travis (Kid Rock, Static-X, Killing Heidi, etc.) producing.

In the last year the band has appeared in Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine as well as having played on The Late Show with David Letterman. Billboard recently named the band one of the “Best Bets of 09.” The four Belfast boys also made their video game debut when Activision chose their song “Never Too Late” for Guitar Hero IV: World Tour. And “Everyday Demons” was just nominated for “Album Of The Year” at the 2009 Classic Rock Awards.

The Answer is comprised of four friends, musicians and songwriters from Downpatrick, a country town some twenty miles south of Belfast: Cormac Neeson (lead vocals), Paul Mahon (guitar), Micky Waters (bass) and James Heatley (drums). The U.K.’s Classic Rock Magazine voted them 2005′s Best New UK Band at their prestigious Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards and called them, “The biggest new rock band of the decade.” Similarly, Kerrang! praised “Rise” as “the best British rock debut of the decade” and reviewed a U.K. live show by The Answer as “F*@king stupendous.”
