The classic Columbia Records catalog recordings (1973-1987) of Aerosmith, America’s all-time top-selling rock and roll band, will be available for the first time digitally on the iTunes Store beginning Tuesday, September 6. Pre-orders for the full albums begin today on iTunes (www.itunes.com).

An essential canon of music from one of the world’s greatest and most enduring rock bands, Aerosmith’s recordings for Columbia Records in the 1970s and 1980s defined an epic career trajectory and the cultural epoch that surrounded it. Over the years, Aerosmith’s patented blend of knowing pop-craft and roiling libidinous id has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, with more than 66 million of those in the US alone.

The classic Aerosmith catalog will be available to purchase and download on iTunes and other digital retailers as full albums or individual tracks. A complete list of albums and songs follows. (more…)

For more than 30 years, Aerosmith has defined American Rock “N” Roll. Aerosmith has laid down some of the most impassioned ballads in history alongside some of the fiercest rock tracks ever recorded.  For the first time, those ballads, each digitally remastered, have been brought together in one powerful collection — Tough Love: Best Of The Ballads (Geffen/UMe), released May 24, 2011.

Aerosmith defines the essence of American Rock & Roll. Even a brief overview of the group’s remarkable career is truly mind-boggling: over 100 million albums sold, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, countless awards (including four Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards, an Academy Award nomination, and 12 MTV Awards), and a fanatically loyal fan-base numbering in the millions worldwide.

The members of Aerosmith – Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer – remain creatively vital and continue to set the platinum standard for artist and commercial success in the music business. Over the past 30 years, Aerosmith has earned 95, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA for the group’s albums, singles, and videos.

No wind, no rain, no motorcycle mishaps can stop Aerosmith’s “Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock Tour” which begins their spectacular 18-city Live Nation produced US Summer Tour starting tomorrow, Friday, July 23rd at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.

Aerosmith, America’s Number One rock and roll band, has just finished a run of phenomenally successful dates in Europe and South America but all agree that playing for their American fans is the ultimate. Clearly the Aerosmith army couldn’t agree more.

The band is scheduled to play their hometown along with the J. Geils Band at a sold out Fenway Park show on August 14th.

“After last summer, we’ve been looking forward to getting back out there with a vengeance. I can’t wait to feel the roar of the American audiences again and give this summer what it needs – a double dose of Aerosmith!” commented Steven Tyler.

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry had a motorcycle mishap last week but stated, “Just like the name of the tour, I am ‘Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock.’ It was a close call. My bike is smashed but I am ok from head to toe. I want to thank all of the fans for their emails and support.” (more…)
