MED, F, and Som Riscado receive awards at the Iberian Festival Awards
The Algarve recently celebrated success at the Iberian Festival Awards, with MED, Som Riscado, and Festival F scooping up three awards. The ceremony took place on the evening of Saturday, March 15, in Almancil.
Among the winners was the MED Festival, which was recognized for its outstanding commitment to sustainability. Branko also received an award for “Best Free Electronic Act” for his performance at the Som Riscado Festival in Loulé. Additionally, David Pereira’s festival photo at F in Faro was acknowledged with an award.
Hosted at the Pavilhão Multiusos 25 de Abril in Almancil, the event was attended by key figures in the festival industry. The gala featured the presentation of awards in 26 categories honoring talent, innovation, and impact within Iberian festivals. The awards recognized live events, performances, as well as the individuals and projects contributing behind the scenes to the industry’s success.
The ceremony also included special performances by Best Youth, Tó Trips, Kanela, and Di Hantt, creating memorable moments for the attendees. The evening highlighted the collective achievements and progress in Iberian festival excellence.
Among the winners in various categories were renowned festivals like Bilbao BBK Live, Rock in Rio Lisbon, Nights of the Botánico, Bons Sons, Tremor, Brunch Electronik Lisboa X NEOPOP, Songs Estrella Galicia Posidonia, and many others. Each festival was commended for its unique contributions to their respective categories, from touristic promotion to cultural programs, communication, and marketing strategies, to performances by Carl Cox and Branko, among others.
Sustainability efforts were also recognized, with Festival Med and Mallorca Live Festival receiving accolades for their contributions to sustainability. Cooltural Fest and Meo Kalorama were honored for their efforts in promoting equality within the festival landscape.
Other awards celebrated photography, video coverage, brand activation, venues, academic and youth festivals, as well as non-music and festivity-focused events. Excellence awards were presented to notable personalities like Terry Costa and the entity of the year, Casfid.
The Iberian Festival Awards served as a platform to showcase the diversity, creativity, and excellence within the festival industry. The recognition bestowed upon the winners reflects the dedication and innovation that continue to drive the festival scene forward in the Iberian region.
