With MMRBQ 2025 just around the corner, Brent Porche from WMMR recently had a chat with Dorothy Martin, the lead singer of the band Dorothy, who is all set to grace the stage at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on May 10th. Dorothy’s new album, “The Way,” marks her fourth LP released through Roc Nation, featuring ten robust tracks, including popular singles like “MUD” and “Tombstone Town,” where she collaborates with none other than Slash, the iconic guitarist from Guns N’ Roses.

The addition of Slash to “Tombstone Town” was a momentous occasion for Dorothy, infusing the song with an extra layer of fervor through his legendary riffs. Describing the album as a whole, Dorothy fondly dubs it a “love letter to the fans.” The title track, “The Way,” brings a profound emotional depth to the album, resonating with longtime followers of her music. Dorothy’s distinct blend of bluesy, raw rock permeates the entire record, offering a familiar yet refreshing sound for her dedicated fan base.

Vinyl enthusiasts will be delighted to know that “The Way” is available in various formats, including a tangerine orange and black splattered variant for collectors. For those seeking a vintage touch, the album is also available on cassette, catering to fans who appreciate a retro flair in their music collection.

Looking towards the future, Dorothy is bracing for the 10th anniversary of her debut album, “Rockisdead,” next year. This milestone serves as a reminder of the decade-long journey since the release of her breakthrough record that catapulted her into the spotlight and captured the hearts of her supporters. As Dorothy continues to evolve musically and connect with her audience through her authentic sound, her legacy in the rock music scene is set to endure for years to come.
