Video reveals suspect stealing police car in Snohomish County

A suspect stole a patrol car from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office on February 19 after a hit-and-run incident. The Arlington police had initially been searching for the suspect who had crashed a truck and trailer into a vehicle in Arlington. The suspect then proceeded to drive to a family member’s residence near Edgecomb and collided with their garage. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the suspect engaged in an argument with a family member. In an attempt to diffuse the situation, a deputy was trying to calm things down when the suspect suddenly entered the deputy’s patrol car and sped away.

Newly released bodycam footage from Snohomish County reveals the moment when the suspect commandeered the patrol car and escaped. Two Arlington officers managed to corner the stolen vehicle as it was fleeing and successfully apprehended the suspect. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the deputy’s vehicle only suffered minor scratches in the process.
