The local band Little B. and the Mojo Brothers from Maringá is gearing up for a special event – the recording of their audiovisual EP titled “Tropicadélica” at the iconic Teatro Barracão Paulo Mantovani on April 27th at 7 pm. Supported by the Aniceto Matti Award, this project will capture the live performance as well as the audio rendition of the songs.

The band is fronted by the talented couple Triz Teixeira on vocals and Marco Teixeira on guitar, alongside Adilson Filho on bass and backing vocals, and Anderson Dutra on drums. The event, which is open to attendees aged 14 and above, will ensure inclusivity by providing a sign language interpreter and materials containing song lyrics and show information.

Featuring six new tracks entirely in Portuguese for the first time, the EP promises a distinct musical journey that showcases the band’s evolution within the independent rock scene in Maringá. The band’s shift to their native language marks a significant step forward artistically and emotionally, reflecting the trials and triumphs faced by the group in recent years.

Lead vocalist Triz Teixeira shares, “This project embodies the fusion of rock and Brazilian music that we have been exploring. Building upon the influences of our previous album, ‘Canela Baby’, released in 2023, this EP represents our most refined and introspective work to date. Working in Portuguese adds an extra layer of significance to this project, creating a deeply personal connection with our audience.”

The EP’s lyrical content delves into themes of love, loss, and new beginnings, drawing inspiration from iconic Brazilian musicians like Os Mutantes, Rita Lee, and Raul Seixas. The infusion of rock, neo-psychedelia, MPB, and pop elements promises a refreshing and eclectic musical experience for the audience.

Incorporating special appearances by talented musicians including Thiago Ueda, Mateus Alabi, and Eduardo Cardoso, the band aims to deliver a memorable performance that showcases their artistic growth and diverse influences. Vocalist Marco Teixeira expresses his excitement about the show, highlighting the collaborative effort and the band’s evolution following a period of restructuring.

Since their inception in 2016, Little B. and the Mojo Brothers have been celebrated for their unique blend of national rock, psychedelic sounds, and Brazilian rhythms. Their past releases, such as the singles “No Land for Young Folks” and “Boy Neon”, as well as the EP “Live at Mojo House”, have garnered critical acclaim and earned them a spot among the best releases of the year.

With a growing presence in the music scene, the band has graced various festivals and venues, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances. The upcoming recording of “Tropicadélica” promises to be a landmark event in their musical journey, celebrating their artistic reinvention and commitment to creating innovative music.
