New single Breakaway released by Florida metal singer Insite
Naples metal vocalist Insite, who gained recognition on the popular TV show American Idol, has dropped his debut track “Breakaway.” The tune, heavily influenced by bands like Korn and Linkin Park, serves as a reflection of his musical voyage.
Despite his departure during Hollywood Week, Insite chooses to view his American Idol participation as a positive experience. Moving forward, he aims to concentrate on putting out singles and establishing a solid reputation for a potential future tour.
After captivating audiences with his rendition of a Korn hit and engaging in some spirited headbanging alongside Carrie Underwood on the American Idol stage, the Naples metal vocalist Insite is gearing up to leverage the national exposure he garnered on the TV show. He has decided to unveil his inaugural public release: the melodic yet thunderous track “Breakaway,” which was produced by Miami-based music producer Charles Massabo.
Performing under the alias Insite, the 19-year-old School of Rock music instructor, Kobyn Melton, managed to impress the judges during his audition on “Idol,” which earned him a golden ticket on March 9. During a memorable moment, Carrie Underwood joined him in an impromptu performance of the Drowning Pool song “Bodies.” Unfortunately, his appearance on “Idol” was cut short when he was eliminated during Hollywood Week alongside a significant portion of the hopeful contestants in The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
While the outcome of his American Idol journey didn’t match his aspirations, Insite remains appreciative of the exposure the show afforded him. He acknowledges that being on the program helped elevate his visibility and broaden his reach.
“Breakaway,” Insite’s latest single, is heavily influenced by the Nu Metal and ’90s alternative rock genres he holds dear. Infused with elements of electronic and pop music, the track embodies the heavy, hard-hitting sound reminiscent of bands like Korn, Linkin Park, and Alice in Chains, as well as modern groups like Falling In Reverse.
It took Insite approximately four to six months to craft “Breakaway,” a process involving around 30 iterations to ensure the song was as close to perfection as possible. The lyrics encapsulate his personal journey, from honing his skills in his Naples garage to performing at local venues across Southwest Florida and now unveiling his first public release to the world.
