Lost Circus, a band comprised of lead vocalist Steve Libby, guitarists Bryan Blumer and Kenny Knight, bassist Chad Grant, and drummer Tom Gregory, has recently released a video for their cover of Alanis Morissette’s track “Uninvited.”

Initially featured in the soundtrack of the movie “City of Angels” on February 24, 1998, Morissette’s single “Uninvited” marked her return after the huge success of her album “Jagged Little Pill” in 1995, which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time with over 33 million copies sold worldwide.

A press release by MDPR mentions that Lost Circus has put a unique twist on Morissette’s Grammy-winning hit, offering a powerful rendition now available on various streaming platforms. The track was produced and mixed by Saul Zonana at Studio Z, with a visually captivating music video directed by Calico Cooper.

Lost Circus expertly blends modern intensity with a classic hard rock sound in their cover of “Uninvited,” infusing the original haunting elegance with a cinematic, riff-driven approach. Drawing influences from iconic bands like Queensrÿche, Judas Priest, and Disturbed, the band breathes new life into the song.

The video for “Uninvited,” shot at Skyway Studios and in Nashville, Tennessee, adds layers of powerful storytelling and dramatic visuals to enhance the song’s ethereal nature. Cooper’s direction brings a surreal, dystopian tone to the video, emphasizing a modern allegory of the struggle between humanity and artificial intelligence.

Actor Rodman Rodman delivers a captivating performance as a synthetic being grappling with the intentions of his creators to weaponize him, blurring the lines between creator and creation. The video poses a thought-provoking question about the future: Will humanity prevail, or will it be left behind — uninvited?

Frontman Steve Libby expressed his admiration for songs with emotional depth, highlighting “Uninvited” as a rare gem that resonated with the band. Working with Calico on the project injected a new energy into the creative process, bringing the narrative to life in unexpected ways.

The single was mastered by Maor Appelbaum Mastering, known for collaborating with rock legends worldwide. With previous releases like their cover of Mike + The Mechanics’ “Silent Running” and “Not In Our House (Smashville),” which has become a staple at Nashville Predators’ NHL home games, Lost Circus continues to establish themselves as a rising voice in hard rock music.

The band’s video for “Uninvited” encapsulates their artistry and vision, showcasing their ability to reimagine a classic song with a fresh perspective. Through their unique interpretation and evocative visuals, Lost Circus invites listeners on a journey that transcends boundaries and resonates deeply with fans of rock music.
