Star Wars Zero Company Announces Tactics Game Trailer, Scheduled for 2026 Release
Electronic Arts unveiled the highly anticipated Star Wars Zero Company video game at Star Wars Celebration Japan, developed in partnership with Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games. Set during the Clone Wars era, the new turn-based tactics game is scheduled for release next year.
Players will assume the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer leading a skilled team of operatives in a gritty narrative set amidst the chaos of the Clone Wars. Zero Company, a diverse group of mercenaries from different corners of the galaxy, must unite to face a looming threat endangering the entire galaxy.
Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor, shared his excitement about the project, emphasizing the seamless integration of the Star Wars universe into engaging turn-based tactical gameplay. The goal is to offer players a unique Star Wars experience with a branching narrative that responds to player decisions and immersive, cinematic combat.
Lucasfilm Games’ GM & VP Douglas Reilly expressed their team’s enthusiasm for the tactics genre, noting their long-time desire to create a game like Star Wars Zero Company. By choosing Bit Reactor to develop the title, they aim to deliver an authentic Star Wars experience centered on meaningful player choices.
The game will feature a campaign filled with tactical missions and detective work across various locations in the galaxy. Players will manage a base of operations, gather intelligence, and navigate through intricate alliances and rivalries within the Star Wars universe. Additionally, players can recruit and customize their own squad of operators, each with a unique set of skills and abilities.
Customization plays a key role in Zero Company, allowing players to tailor Hawks’ appearance and combat style, as well as individual operatives from a diverse selection of Star Wars character classes and species. From Clone Troopers to Jedi, each squad member can be personalized with specific load-outs and abilities to suit different combat scenarios.
One of the game’s innovative features is the ability to strengthen relationships between squadmates, unlocking special combat synergies that can turn the tide in battle. By forging bonds within the group, players can enhance their tactical advantage and overcome challenging encounters.
Star Wars Zero Company is scheduled for release in 2026, catering to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. The official announcement trailer offers a glimpse into the immersive world and thrilling gameplay awaiting fans when the game launches.
