Multi-award winning St Ives-based art rock band, The Emerald Dawn, known for their significant impact in the British progressive rock scene, is set to perform at their hometown September Festival. Fresh from their debut international performance at Germany’s Art Rock Festival, the band is scheduled to take the stage at St Ives Theatre on Monday, September 15. The Emerald Dawn headlined prestigious events like The Soundle 2024 Festival, Prog the Forest, and impressed audiences at Prog for Peart, Fusion Festival, A New Day Festival, A Sunday in September (London), and Summer’s End Progressive Rock Festival. Their exceptional talent garnered them the “best performance” award at HRH Prog XII, the UK’s largest prog festival. The band members – Tree Stewart (keyboards, flute, acoustic guitar, vocals), Ally Carter (guitars, saxophones, keyboards, vocals), David Greenway (bass guitars), and Tom Jackson (drums) – have received numerous accolades and nominations for their contributions to the progressive rock genre. In the 2023 Prog Magazine Readers’ Poll, The Emerald Dawn ranked in the top ten for both the Best Band/Artist and Best Album categories. Their album “In Time” was honored with the Prog Explorations Plus award for Best Album of 2023, with acclaim for their drummer’s performance as the “best in the world”. Additionally, Progphonic and Game of Prog listeners recognized vocalist Tree as the runner-up for Best Female Vocalist. Reflecting on their journey to Germany’s Art Rock Festival, which involved traveling through four countries and over 2,200 miles for a single performance, Tree expressed their enthusiasm for the experience. The band’s vocalist described the festival as a beautiful convergence of music, minds, and hearts, noting the similarities between the German and UK prog scenes. The Emerald Dawn will be joined by special guests Dandelion Charm, an alternative folk duo from East Sussex. Combining folk, rock, and prog elements with a sound reminiscent of the late 60s and early 70s, they invite audiences to explore a blend of musical styles. Describing their sound as a mix of Buckingham and Nicks without conflict or Crosby, Stills & Nash meeting Yes, Dandelion Charm is set to kick off The Emerald Dawn’s September Festival performance. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.stivesseptemberfestival.co.uk.
