The Los Angeles Police Department recently made public the footage of an altercation involving Jillian Lauren, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, showing body camera recordings, surveillance footage, and audio from the 911 call on April 8th.

Law enforcement had been called to the Eagle Rock neighborhood after a hit-and-run involving three suspects, which eventually led to the shooting. In the released clips, police officers can be observed peering over a backyard fence, advising Lauren, who was identified as Jillian Shriner, to put down her weapon.

“Ma’am, we’re trying to help you. Put the gun down,” was heard in the audio, followed by, “You’re going to get shot. It’s the police.” Subsequently, the sound of gunfire can be heard in the recording. Following the incident, Lauren was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of “non-life-threatening injuries” and was subsequently charged with attempted murder. She later posted a $1 million bond and was reported to be “alive and well” by her manager. Lauren has a scheduled court appearance on Wednesday.

Another surveillance camera also captured footage of the acclaimed author outside her residence holding a pistol. Despite the distressing events, Lauren appears to be at the center of an ongoing legal situation stemming from the incident.
