Yungblud delights young fan by recreating scene from “Lovesick Lullaby” music video
Yungblud, the renowned singer-songwriter also known as Dominic Richard Harrison, recently delighted fans by recreating a scene from his Lovesick Lullaby music video with the help of four-year-old Hope and her family. The 27-year-old artist, originally from Doncaster, is gearing up for a series of summer shows, with the first stop being the National Bowl in Milton Keynes in June. However, he surprised fans by showing up at Tottenham Court Rd and inviting them to join in recreating a scene from his latest video where he is seated on a couch.
Hope’s mother, a fan of Yungblud’s music, shared, “I’m a huge fan of Yungblud’s music. I play it so much around the house that the kids have gotten into it too!” She continued, “Hope’s favourite song is ‘Anarchist’!” The music video for Lovesick Lullaby features Yungblud at various iconic London locations, such as Primrose Hill, Regents Park, and the Hawley Arms in Camden. The song marks his return after a year, following the release of his previous single, Hello Heaven, Hello.
Yungblud’s latest single, Lovesick Lullaby, was unveiled this week with a music video filmed in Bulgaria. Fans eagerly awaited the release, flooding the YouTube page with messages of excitement and anticipation. Kate Angel expressed her anticipation, saying, “Woman in Rock Music Here! Excited for your new phase Yungblud! Thank you for inspiring me Dom. Much Love!” Another fan shared their disbelief at the impending release of the song, counting down the hours to its debut.
The singer drew inspiration for the video from a late-night exploration of a friend’s record collection on New Year’s Eve, where he stumbled upon Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same. This iconic rock track features lead singer Robert Plant riding a horse through a magnificent landscape, a scene that captivated Yungblud. The resulting music video for Lovesick Lullaby includes striking imagery of Yungblud on snow-covered mountains with a majestic black stallion.
In planning the video, Yungblud envisioned himself on a horse in the Bulgarian mountains, growing wings and flying off it, then rewinding time to end up on a hillside with a cross. When asked about his horse-riding abilities, he admitted to being inexperienced, prompting a crash course in horse-riding in Bulgaria’s frigid conditions. He fondly recalled his experience riding Harry the Horse, describing it as epic and beautiful.
Yungblud’s eclectic music career has seen him share the stage with artists like Avril Lavigne and Halsey, with whom he had a year-long relationship starting in late 2018. His creative vision and unique style continue to captivate audiences worldwide, with each new release showcasing his artistry and passion for music.
