Wolfgang Van Halen transforms into a vampire in new music video ‘The End’
Multi-instrumentalist Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed a new single titled “The End” as part of his one-man project Mammoth, marking a departure from his former use of initials. The track is accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Robert Rodriguez, featuring Van Halen amidst a crowd of vampires, zombies, and a guest appearance by Slash.
Drawing inspiration from Rodriguez’s film “From Dusk Till Dawn,” the video includes a cameo by Danny Trejo reprising his role as a bouncer, as well as subtle references to Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller.” Van Halen’s mother, Valerie Bertinelli, makes a special appearance in the video, adding to the star-studded lineup.
Musically, “The End” showcases Van Halen’s technical prowess, with intricate guitar solos and a bassline infused with funk elements. The song’s introduction, characterized by a tapping riff, is reminiscent of his father’s distinctive style. Van Halen expressed his satisfaction with the track, stating, “I was able to fit it into this world. It’s still over-the-top and shreddy, but it’s also melodic and controlled. Once we finished ‘The End,’ it felt really special to me.”
This release marks the beginning of a new phase for Mammoth WVH, following their last album, “Mammoth II,” released in 2023. Van Halen has confirmed a U.S. headlining tour for Fall 2025, accompanied by Myles Kennedy, in addition to supporting acts for Seether and Creed scheduled for May, July, and August.
Fans of Mammoth WVH can expect more exciting developments in the future, as Van Halen continues to push the boundaries of his musical endeavors. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience “The End” and stay tuned for more updates from this talented artist.
