Rock and Roll Celebration: Super Distortion!
London-based group FANTAZMAZ, known for their gritty punk sound, has recently released an edgy new video titled ‘Distortion’. Shot near London’s Barbican, the video serves as the visual accompaniment to the band’s upcoming debut album set to be released on 4th July via Ghetto Bitch Records.
Frontwoman Thami elaborates on the album’s themes, stating that it delves into feelings of anger and frustration, reflecting a bleak outlook on the future. She expresses that the album captures the band’s perception of the current global crisis, emphasizing that the message is blunt and upfront, inviting listeners to experience it firsthand by immersing themselves in the music.
The recording process for the album was a swift and organic two-day affair at Monolith Studio. With the first day dedicated to laying down drum tracks and the second day for guitars, bass, and vocals, the band approached the recording with a sense of raw honesty and simplicity. Thami mentions that the songs had been in the works for some time, and the decision to release a full album stemmed from the band’s desire to share their complete body of work. Their excitement for the album’s release is palpable, marking a significant milestone in their music career.
Fans have the opportunity to pre-order the album and can look forward to catching FANTAZMAZ live at various gigs throughout the upcoming Spring and Summer months. The band’s schedule includes performances at notable venues like London’s Underworld, Signature Brewery, and Helgi’s album launch. Additionally, international dates in cities such as Hamburg, Munster, and Nuneaton are also on the horizon. The band’s headline show at Hope & Anchor in London promises to be a highlight, along with their appearance at the Punk Rock Ruined My Life Festival in the Netherlands.
FANTAZMAZ’s music encapsulates a raw and unapologetic energy that resonates with audiences seeking authentic punk rock experiences. Their genuine approach to music-making and their fearless attitude towards confronting societal issues make them a standout act in the underground music scene. As they gear up to release their debut album and embark on an exciting lineup of live shows, FANTAZMAZ is poised to make a lasting impact on the punk music landscape.
