Counting Crows recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to play their new song “Spaceman In Tulsa” from their latest album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!. Frontman Adam Duritz led the band through the track following an interview with Jimmy Fallon, highlighting the long-standing relationship Fallon has had with the group.

This relationship dates back to Fallon’s early days as a comedian when he parodied Counting Crows’ hit “Mr. Jones” on his first comedy album and even opened for the band at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom in 1997. Duritz shared an anecdote about receiving an invitation from the Prince camp to a party at Paisley Park, which he declined, only to later receive a care package from Prince that included a tambourine, which he proudly displayed during the performance of “Spaceman In Tulsa.”

The new album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!, features five previously unreleased tracks along with the four songs from the band’s 2021 EP, Butter Miracle: Suite One. “Spaceman In Tulsa” was released earlier this year as a sneak peek of what fans could expect from the full album.

Counting Crows wowed the audience with their energetic performance of “Spaceman In Tulsa” on The Tonight Show, showcasing the blend of rock and shimmering melodies that define their sound. Keyboardist Charlie Gillingham added layers of texture to the song with impressive piano runs, enhancing the overall experience.

Following their TV appearance, Counting Crows are gearing up for an extensive tour starting on June 10 in Nashville, where they will be supported by The Gaslight Anthem. The tour will span various cities across North America, wrapping up near Denver on August 23.

With their latest album and electrifying performances, Counting Crows continue to captivate audiences with their signature sound and dynamic stage presence, further solidifying their status as one of the most iconic bands in the music industry. Fans can expect a unique and captivating musical experience at any of their upcoming tour dates, as they showcase their newest material alongside classic hits that have made them a household name in rock music.
