Poor Creature releases new single and music video for ‘Adieu Lovely Erin’

Poor Creature has recently unveiled their debut album, All Smiles Tonight, which features the talents of Ruth Clinton from Landless, Cormac MacDiarmada from Lankum, and John Dermody from The Jimmy Cake. The band, known for its unique blend of folk and storytelling, has released a captivating single and music video titled ‘Adieu Lovely Erin,’ following their initial release, ‘The Whole Town Knows.’

According to the band, ‘Adieu Lovely Erin’ narrates the compelling story of William Hill, a forger from Belfast who was exiled to Australia in 1826. The accompanying music video, crafted by Ruth, takes viewers on a visual journey through iconic Irish landscapes and some of the band’s favorite spots in Dublin. The song’s narrative and emotional depth are beautifully complemented by the visual storytelling in the animated music video.

The album ‘All Smiles Tonight,’ produced by John ‘Spud’ Murphy, is set to hit the airwaves on July 11th, 2025, under Rough Trade’s sister label River Lea Records. Fans can look forward to experiencing the album in multiple formats, including CD, standard black vinyl LP, and a special neon yellow vinyl LP DINKED edition, complete with a lyric booklet and signed print. Pre-orders for the album are available now, allowing fans to secure their copy of this highly anticipated release.

In addition to their album debut, Poor Creature has announced a series of upcoming tour dates, offering fans the opportunity to experience their unique sound and storytelling in a live setting. The band is scheduled to play an in-store event at Rough Trade East in London on July 14th, with more tour dates to follow. Fans can catch Poor Creature at various festivals and venues, including Supersonic Festival in Birmingham on Aug 31st, Subterranean Festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sept 20th, where they will support Lisa O’Neill, and a range of other shows across the UK and Ireland.
