“Blood on the Ceiling delves into the experience of growing up with a parent who grapples with mental health issues and addiction. It navigates the challenges, pain, and mixed emotions of love and forgiveness, juxtaposed with feelings of hate that can arise when forgiveness falls short. Through this gritty narrative, a message of hope emerges, urging listeners to hang on amidst life’s struggles. Ultimately, the song touches on the importance of choosing one’s own family, rather than solely relying on the family we are born into.”
