Sevendust to fill in for 3 Doors Down on upcoming Creed tour
Sevendust has been chosen as the replacement for 3 Doors Down on the upcoming Creed tour after 3 Doors Down had to cancel all of their scheduled shows due to lead singer Brad Arnold’s diagnosis of stage four kidney cancer. Sevendust will be joining the North American tour that kicks off on July 9 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky and ends on August 20 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Canada.
Sevendust has already been on the road with Creed, joining them on their second sold-out Summer of ’99 Cruise, as well as supporting them on their New Year’s Eve run in 2024. Recently, Sevendust also served as special guests for Disturbed on their 25th-anniversary tour celebrating the album “The Sickness.” Before that, Sevendust was celebrating the 21st anniversary of their album “Seasons,” which was released in 2003.
Sevendust’s latest studio album, “Truth Killer,” was released on July 28, 2023, via Napalm Records, and was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The band, consisting of Lajon Witherspoon, Clint Lowery, John Connolly, Vince Hornsby, and Morgan Rose, continues to resonate with their fans even after three decades in the music industry. The single “Everything” from the album became their highest-charting single to date, peaking at No. 6.
Creed recently finished their reunion tour with a performance in Orlando, Florida. Their high demand continued with sold-out venues nationwide, including Madison Square Garden in New York City. Due to the overwhelming demand, Creed is going on tour again in 2025. The band also announced the second installment of their Summer of ’99 and Beyond Festival taking place at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI, where Nickelback will co-headline with them. This festival marks the first time both bands will share the stage since 1999.
The successful rock festival celebrates the anthems of a generation and demonstrates the continued demand for live rock music. In addition to their headlining tour dates, Creed will also play at Stagecoach in Indio, California, alongside artists like Lana Del Rey and Backstreet Boys. The festival lineup has expanded to include different genres and is sure to be a hit with music fans.
Overall, Sevendust replacing 3 Doors Down on the Creed tour highlights the camaraderie and support within the music industry, allowing fans to continue experiencing live music despite unexpected challenges.
