Slam Dunk Festival South has released a cautionary advisory regarding phone theft incidents during their event. Festival-goers were reminded through social media posts that rock concerts are notorious for phone theft, making the upcoming festival, slated to be held over the May Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday, May 24, a potential target for such crimes.

Last year’s festival witnessed some success in addressing this issue, as the strategic deployment of plans led to the apprehension and conviction of key perpetrators, resulting in the recovery of stolen phones for rightful owners. Encouraging attendees to remain vigilant, festival organizers advised against confronting suspicious individuals directly if a theft is suspected, but rather stressed the importance of promptly seeking security assistance for swift action to identify and apprehend suspects.

To further enhance security measures at the festival, attendees were urged to acquaint themselves with key security checkpoints located within the Festival Village, next to The Key Club Stage, and by the Kerrang! Stage at the Hatfield Park venue. Assurances were given that security personnel will be monitoring the event, with undercover agents discreetly present in the crowd to prevent any untoward incidents.

In the event of a surge in phone theft reports during the festival, random searches may be conducted on exiting individuals to curb any further criminal activity. As for the musical acts set to grace the stage, headlining the event will be A Day to Remember, drawing in crowds with their energetic performance. Other notable acts featured include Electric Callboy, Neck Deep, Alkaline Trio, Less Than Jake, The Used, New Found Glory, and Hot Milk, among others.

The terminating act of the Main Stage West performances is A Day to Remember at 9 pm, following prior sets by New Found Glory and Neck Deep. Electric Callboy is scheduled to entertain the audience on the Main Stage East from 7.45 pm to 8.55 pm, taking over from The Used’s performance earlier in the evening. Less Than Jake is set to captivate audiences on the Monster Energy Stage from 7.15 pm to 8.15 pm, with Alkaline Trio concluding the performances on this stage from 8.40 pm to 9.40 pm.

As the Slam Dunk Festival 2025 approaches, the emphasis on security remains paramount to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Vigilance, cooperation with security personnel, and awareness of security protocols are essential elements to combat phone theft and maintain a secure environment throughout the festival.
