Celebrities are rallying behind Josh Freese after he was booted out of the Foo Fighters lineup. The 52-year-old musician revealed on Instagram that he was let go by the band, leaving him “shocked and disappointed.” This news has sparked an outpouring of support from fellow stars.

Notable figures such as Primus drummer John Hoffman expressed his dismay in the comments section, stating that he believed Freese was the king and that the band’s decision was a misstep. Rapper Flavor Flav also chimed in with words of encouragement, urging Freese to stay strong.

Jillian Dempsey, wife of actor Patrick Dempsey, offered to confront the situation head-on, suggesting she could potentially address the issue behind the scenes. Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit voiced his astonishment at the news, describing it as shocking and distasteful. Similarly, actress Wendi McLendon-Covey shared her disbelief, hinting that Freese might actually be better off without the band in the long run.

Former Police drummer Stewart Armstrong Copeland pointed out the silver lining, suggesting that Freese would soon find opportunities within the music scene. Comedian Tim Heidecker attempted to lighten the mood by joking that at least Freese wouldn’t have to endure the band’s less popular songs anymore. Wolfgang Van Halen added to the confusion surrounding Freese’s dismissal with a meme.

Freese himself clarified that he was given no reason for his termination, simply sharing that the band informed him of their decision to move in a new direction without him. Despite his lack of anger, Freese admitted to feeling blindsided and let down by the band’s abrupt decision. As a professional drummer for over four decades, he recounted that this was the first time he had been fired from a group. However, Freese emphasized his adaptable nature, having always navigated between different bands throughout his career.

The musician did not harbor ill feelings towards Foo Fighters, acknowledging the enjoyable experiences he had on and off stage with them for the past two years. Freese assured fans that he supported the band’s vision for its future. Stay tuned for his humorous take on the situation as he plans to share “Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from the Foo Fighters” list soon.

Freese’s journey with Foo Fighters began in May 2023, following the tragic passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins in early 2022. With Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee, Freese contributed his talents to the band before the unexpected turn of events led to his departure.
