Over the weekend, Shinedown headlined the inaugural Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Maryland. After a wild 2022 tour behind their chart-topping album Planet Zero that saw the band showcase the biggest production of their career, Shinedown are back at it with an all-new explosive live performance. On Sunday, the pyro wasn’t the only highlight of their show, however. In a full circle moment, the band reunited with original bassist Brad Stewart. They performed “Fly from the Inside,” the leadoff track from the band’s eponymous 2003 debut Leave a Whisper.
Check out the fan-filmed footage below.
Stewart was a member of Shinedown from their inception until 2007. He played on the band’s first two full-length releases – Leave a Whisper (2003) and Us and Them (2005). Both went records went on to sell over 1 million copies, and Us and Them gave the group their first Top 25 hit album on the Billboard 200.
Stewart has been playing bass for Saliva since 2015.
Back in January, Shinedown released two new songs – “Dance, Kid Dance” and “Three Six Five.” They are the first new pieces of material since their 2022 blockbuster LP, Planet Zero. The group are reportedly planning on releasing a new album later this summer. The multi-platinum rockers are back on the road for their massive Dance, Kid, Dance Tour. The run includes a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City in July. The trek features special guests Beartooth on the spring dates and alt-rock icons Bush on the summer dates with Morgan Wade opening all shows.
