Buffalo hardcore band Frozen Ground recently unveiled a music video for their new track “No Values, Only Judgment,” featuring guest vocals by Michael Smith of Pain Of Truth.

The mastermind behind the creation of the song’s video, production, and direction is Mike Hatalak, the band’s guitarist and vocalist who also managed the recording, mixing, and mastering aspects of the track. The song dives into topics surrounding betrayal, self-deceit, and moral decline without sugar-coating it.

Frozen Ground, comprising Mike Hatalak on guitar and vocals, drummer John Runkle, bassist Greg Styliades, and vocalist Nick Brooks, delivers a raw and unapologetic message. The song kicks off with Brooks declaring, “Cut out / Just like a fucking disease,” setting the tone for a gritty experience. With a mid-tempo rhythm that hits hard both musically and lyrically, the track boldly calls out individuals who reveal their true colors when faced with real challenges.

The chorus bluntly states, “No values / Only judgment,” encapsulating feelings of disdain and disappointment in a compelling rhythmic structure that remains sharp and unwelcoming. The band fearlessly addresses cowardice not as a fleeting moment but as a defining characteristic. The band unapologetically states, “Run, hide, like a dog all bark no bite / When it mattered most, came as no surprise,” leaving no room for doubt. No redemption stories, just plain consequences.

Michael Smith’s collaboration adds a second raw voice during the breakdown, reinforcing the song’s condemnation and solidifying the theme of judgment. Ambiguity is absent, making way for a final verdict: “Devoid of morality / Nothing but contempt for your lies and deceit / It ends now.”

In addition to the compelling music, Frozen Ground keeps the visuals simple and impactful in the accompanying video, directed by Hatalak. The video features stark visuals and sharp cuts, focusing solely on the band delivering their powerful message.

As the band gears up for upcoming performances, fans can catch Frozen Ground live at Amvets Post in Buffalo alongside Spaced on June 1. They will also be hitting Hellphyra.com in Rutherford, NJ, sharing the stage with Dying Fetus on July 5, and performing in St. Catharines, Ontario with Pure Bliss on July 12.

The band’s approach revolves around raw, stripped-down authenticity in both their music and visuals, making a bold statement through their unrelenting hardcore sound and confrontational lyrics. Proceeding with their summer shows, Frozen Ground is set to make their mark in the hardcore music scene.
