Croatian post-hardcore band DEAD DOG SUMMER have just unveiled their latest single and video titled “Bridges,” marking the release of their third track from the upcoming second album anticipated in the fall of 2025. Shot in May at Club Prostor in Čakovec, Croatia, the video was expertly captured by Steven Antalasic and edited by the band themselves.

Dead Dog Summer emerged onto the music scene towards the close of 2020, and since then, they have left a lasting impact on the independent scenes of Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Serbia. Their debut album, A Place of Someday, initially available digitally in 2022, was later pressed on vinyl by Geenger Records and the band’s label, My Last Station, in May 2023. The trio maintains a steady presence, gracing various clubs and festivals with their electric performances.

The band’s approach revolves around a do-it-yourself ethos, evident in the creation of “Bridges,” which was recorded in their personal studio and rehearsal space. Aligning with their previous production process, mixing and mastering were expertly executed by Ivan Jakić from Kut Sobe studio.

From a musical perspective, Dead Dog Summer navigates the realms of post-hardcore by merging explosive guitar compositions, a solid rhythm section, and versatile vocals that seamlessly transition between melodious tones and gripping screams. The group comprises Igor Bistrović on vocals and guitar, Krešo Žerjav on bass and vocals, and Boris Strahija on drums.

Thematically, “Bridges” delves into the concept of progress and transformation. The band elaborates: “Bridges explores the inevitability of change and the courage required to let go of past aspects of life to pave the way for a brighter future. The song echoes sentiments of personal development and the poignant nature of concluding chapters. In order to cross new thresholds, we must first bid farewell to the old, severing ties with the past to embrace the journey ahead.”

The band’s upcoming album will be released in multiple formats, including vinyl, tape, and digital, underscoring their dedication to physical releases and independent music production. Stay tuned for more riveting music from Dead Dog Summer as they continue to captivate audiences with their distinct post-hardcore sound.
