In the early hours of a tragic morning in San Diego, a Cessna 550 plane crashed into a residential area, claiming the lives of all those on board, including Daniel Williams, the former drummer of The Devil Wears Prada, and Dave Shapiro, one of the key individuals behind Sound Talent Group.

The devastating crash left a trail of chaos, with multiple homes engulfed in flames and jet fuel splattered across the streets of Tierrasanta. Miraculously, there were no reported casualties among the residents in the area.

At approximately 3:47 a.m., the aircraft collided with over a dozen vehicles and houses in a military housing development. Emergency services sprang into action to extinguish the fires and evacuate the neighborhood. The plane was headed to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport but never made it to its destination.

Williams, aged 39, shared his final moments with a touch of humor. He recorded a video of himself boarding the jet at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and playfully referred to himself as the “co-pilot now” in a photo from the cockpit. His light-hearted post now serves as a poignant goodbye.

Following the tragic news, The Devil Wears Prada posted a touching tribute to Williams, acknowledging his significant contributions to the band until his transition to a career as a software engineer in 2016.

“There are no words. We owe you everything. Love you forever,” the band stated alongside a collection of photos documenting Williams’ time with the group.

Sound Talent Group, a prominent player in talent booking and artist management, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their co-founder and friend. They urged everyone to respect the privacy of their loved ones affected by the heartbreaking incident.

After leaving the band, Williams had settled in San Diego, where he lived a quieter life following a thrilling career that once thrust him onto global stages.

The news of the crash reverberated throughout the rock and metal music communities, deeply affecting many individuals who knew Shapiro and Williams personally. An outpouring of tributes emerged online from friends and colleagues, expressing their grief and reminiscing about their interactions with the departed.

As investigations into the crash continue, the music community mourns the loss of two influential figures, their memories and legacies forever cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know them.
