Review of Day Two of M3 Rock Festival: Concert Highlights from Sleaze Roxx
The second day of the M3 Rock Festival wrapped up with strong performances from DLR, Accept, and Winger. The event took place on a Saturday at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, USA. The day was filled with high energy, intense performances that left the audience eager for more.
Red Voodoo kicked off the day as the first opener, immediately capturing everyone’s attention with their vibrant red attire and confident stage presence. The up-and-coming band impressed with their pitch-perfect harmonization and energy, embodying the spirit of ’70s and ’80s rock while adding their own modern twist. Despite their relatively young age as a band, Red Voodoo delivered a stellar performance that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Child’s Play followed with a one-hour set that, unfortunately, fell a bit flat. While their sound was solid, their stage presence left something to be desired, leading to moments of boredom for some audience members. However, frontman John Allen’s vocals shone, and the band’s representation of their hometown of Baltimore was appreciated by the crowd.
Steven Adler’s performance was a highlight of the day, showcasing the iconic drummer’s talent and stage presence. While Adler’s skills may be fading with time, his energy and showmanship were captivating. Ari Kamin, the current frontman for Steven Adler, impressed with his vocal mimicry of Axl Rose and lively performance, drawing attention away from any noticeable differences in tempo during the songs.
Slaughter closed out the day with a set that featured some of their greatest hits. Frontman Mark Slaughter may have struggled with maintaining his vocal range and pitch, but his passion and dedication to the music were evident. The band’s rhythm section, led by founding member Dana Strum on bass and guitarist Jeff “Blando” Bland, kept the momentum going with their tight performance and interaction with the audience.
Overall, the second day of the M3 Rock Festival was filled with memorable performances and classic rock hits. While some bands may have shown signs of age, the energy and enthusiasm of the performers kept the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the day. The festival continues to be a must-see event for fans of rock music, showcasing both established acts and rising stars in the genre.
