Retta is excited to bring her humor to the ugliest houses in America. In a recent press release, she expressed her enthusiasm for the show, stating, “I’m back looking at ugly houses in America babeee!.” She humorously mentioned the uncertain market and the need for work to pay her mortgage. Retta also shared an anecdote from one of her experiences in an ugly house on comedian Tom Papa’s podcast, where she described the overwhelming smell that made her want to leave immediately.

Despite the challenges of exploring strange homes, Retta finds humor in the situation, sharing that she often jokes with the crew about the conditions they encounter. The intense smells and unique features of the homes add to the comedic value of the show. While she may feel like she’s close to passing out from holding her breath at times, Retta’s sense of humor keeps her going.

The upcoming episodes of “Ugliest House in America” promise to showcase some of the most extreme homes yet seen on the show. Episode one will focus on three homes in the Midwest, including a concrete cave, a former bank turned home, and an outdated brick house resembling a pizza place. In episode two, Retta and the crew will explore homes in the Great Lakes region, including a house shaped like a boat, a home with carpet on the walls, and a property that resembles a UFO.

Once Retta completes her journey to find the ugliest houses in America, each home will be judged based on appearance, functionality, and design. The house that scores the worst overall will be crowned the “Ugliest House in America.” However, the show doesn’t leave the homes in their sorry state. The winning house will receive a $150,000 renovation by designer Alison Victoria, the new champion of “Rock the Block.”

To catch all the action and humor of “Ugliest House in America,” tune in to the first two episodes of season six on HGTV on June 2 at 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET, or stream them the next day on Max and Discovery+.
