Big Thief reveals upcoming album Double Infinity and tour dates for 2025
Big Thief shared exciting news about their upcoming album, Double Infinity, scheduled for release on September 5 via 4AD. The band’s sixth studio album is a follow-up to Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, released in 2022, and was recorded at the New York City studio Power Station last winter.
The lead single from the album, “Incomprehensible,” gives fans a taste of what’s to come. Joining Big Thief on this project are various contributors, including ambient and new age musician Laraaji, as well as singer-songwriters Alena Spanger, Hannah Cohen, and June McDoom, along with jazz bassist Joshua Crumbly.
Following the album release, Big Thief will hit the road on their Somersault Slide 360 Tour. This extensive tour will feature performances at notable venues such as The Greek Theater in Berkeley, The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, MGM Music Hall in Boston, Forest Hills Stadium in New York, and even their Mexican debut at Teatro Metropolitan.
Since the band’s last album, each member of Big Thief has pursued solo projects. Adrianne Lenker released Bright Future in 2024, Buck Meek shared Haunted Mountain in 2023, and James Krivchenia dropped Blood Karaoke in 2022, followed by Performing Belief in 2025.
The forthcoming Double Infinity album features a tracklist including songs like “Words,” “Los Angeles,” “Double Infinity,” and “Grandmother.” Fans can look forward to hearing more from Big Thief as they embark on their 2025 tour starting in September. Shows are scheduled in various cities across the United States, from Sacramento, California to New York City, before concluding in Houston, Texas in November.
