After playing a massive three-hour set at the Arizona Financial Theatre, the jam band, Goose, had fans in awe with their blues-infused vibes and dance-worthy tunes. The jam-packed venue was rocking out as Goose took the stage in full force, showcasing their musical prowess all night long.

Following a recent interview with Goose’s drummer, Cotter Ellis, I delved into the band’s extensive repertoire. Coming from a more hard-hitting music background, I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The moment I hit play on “Hungersite,” I was hooked.

As the concert began, Goose set the bar high with their introductory sounds, instantly electrifying the energized crowd. Fans were ecstatic, calling out the band members’ names as they thrived on the infectious energy in the air.

Peter Anspach, the multitalented member handling keyboards, guitars, and vocals, greeted the audience in true Goose fashion. With their performance of “Hot Love & the Lazy Poet,” led by the mesmerizing vocals of Rick Mitarotonda, fans sang along to every word, creating a captivating atmosphere.

The rhythm section, helmed by Cotter Ellis and Trevor Weeks on bass and vocals, was exceptional from the get-go. Goose’s musicianship wasn’t just great; it was simply outstanding. Every note had the audience hanging on, demonstrating the magic of a live Goose performance.

During the break, I had the pleasure of chatting with a couple of dedicated fans, Jordan and Kyle, who revealed they were avid golf professionals from Chicago. Their shared passion for Goose was evident as they shared stories about attending as many shows as possible, with a tally that surpassed 30 concerts.

Another devoted fan, Mandy, who had seen Goose perform three times in just a few months, marveled at the band’s unpredictability. “You never know what songs they are going to play and how they will be played,” she remarked. Goose’s ability to seamlessly transition from one style to another keeps fans on their toes, offering a thrilling experience with each show.

Every concert might feature a unique song or a different take on a track performed elsewhere on the tour. The spontaneity of Goose’s performances keeps fans guessing and adds to the concert’s allure. During the entire three-hour set, I found myself lost in the music – an experience that epitomizes the essence of a jam band performance. Being a part of the seamless sounds, feeling connected to the music, was a truly unforgettable experience.
