First 2 Minutes of “Nyaight of the Living Cat” Anime Streamed
The first two minutes of the upcoming television anime adaptation of the manga “Night of the Living Cat” were recently streamed by IGN. The anime, written as “Nyaight of the Living Cat,” will make its debut on the Abema Premium streaming service on July 6 at 11:00 p.m. EST. Following this, it will air on TV Tokyo on July 7 at 2:00 a.m. It will also be available on BS TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, Animax, and various streaming platforms. Crunchyroll will start streaming the anime on July 6 in multiple regions worldwide.
For fans attending Anime Expo and the Fantasia International Film Festival, special early screenings of the anime’s episodes are planned. The talented cast includes Masaaki Mizunaka, Reina Ueda, Reiji Kawashima, Yū Serizawa, Subaru Kimura, Yoshiki Nakajima, Hiroki Yasumoto, and Ryōta Takeuchi. The anime will feature a high-energy opening theme song called “Cat City” by THE YELLOW MONKEY and a catchy ending theme titled “Matatabi” by the punk rock band WANIMA.
In an exciting collaboration, Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies will provide the “Death Voice” for the anime’s theme song, alongside lyrics by Ayuko Saito, composition by Kōji Endō, and guitar work by Marty Friedman. Additionally, each episode of the anime will conclude with a special segment offering helpful tips on living with cats. Acclaimed film director Takashi Miike serves as the chief director for the anime, with Tomohiro Kamitani directing at OLM. The “Night of the Living Cat” manga first appeared in Mag Garden’s Comic Garden in October 2020 and has since gained popularity with readers. The sixth volume was released in Japan in February, with Seven Seas Entertainment distributing the English versions.
