I try to depict experiences that may seem negative but balance them with a positive groove and melody, especially evident towards the end of the song where St. Vincent and I join in spirited hollering and singing. This ability of music to hold opposites simultaneously struck me as I collaborated with Robyn earlier this year. Her songs carry sadness, yet the music is full of joy.”
