David Byrne, the iconic frontman of Talking Heads, is set to make a return to the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis after seven years. His American Utopia Tour in 2018 left a lasting impact on audiences, and now he is gearing up for another extraordinary experience for fans. Byrne will be performing two shows at the Orpheum on November 3rd and 4th in support of his new album, “Who Is the Sky?” The album, which he worked on with the New York chamber music ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra and producer Kid Harpoon, promises to be a unique addition to his discography.

Tickets for the highly anticipated shows will go on sale via Ticketmaster.com priced between $113-$456. Fans can also get presale access by signing up through Byrne’s website. Similar to his American Utopia Tour, Byrne will be accompanied by a large musical ensemble that will move around the stage during the performance. This innovative concept led to a Grammy-winning Broadway show and a concert film directed by Spike Lee.

The first single from “Who Is the Sky?” was released recently, showcasing a joyous anthem filled with orchestral strings called “Everybody Laughs.” The album, set to release on September 5 via Matador Records, is expected to offer a fresh and distinct sound from Byrne. In addition to his new music, a new video for the Talking Heads classic song “Psycho Killer” featuring Saoirse Ronan was released to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.

Despite some recent reunions with his old bandmates for special appearances, Byrne remains firm in his decision not to reunite the Talking Heads for live shows. The band’s first performance in Minnesota dates back to 1977 at the Longhorn Bar, a historic punk-rock venue in Minneapolis. With his upcoming shows at the Orpheum, David Byrne is poised to deliver another unforgettable experience for fans, continuing his legacy as a trailblazing artist in the music industry.
