Former Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura is exiting the music industry
Three years after her departure from Evanescence, Jen Majura, the former guitarist, has taken to Instagram to announce her departure from the music industry. In a lengthy and heartfelt message, she expressed her decision to step away from the music scene for good, citing various factors that led to her conclusion.
Majura reflected on her experiences in the music industry, touching upon changes in society, advancements in AI, and the current state of the industry. She emphasized that, despite her appreciation for the memories and opportunities she had, she no longer resonates with the prevailing attitude and values within the music industry. This realization prompted her to make the decision to cease her musical pursuits.
While Majura acknowledged the possibility of creating music in the future, she explained that, for now, she feels compelled to prioritize healthier and more fulfilling pursuits that align with her personal values. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support throughout her career as a touring musician and shared four tracks that she and guitarist Dennis Hormes had written over a decade ago as a final musical endeavor.
Having been a part of Evanescence from 2017 to 2022, with her involvement starting as a touring member in 2015, Majura made significant contributions to the band’s albums, including 2017’s “Synthesis” and 2021’s “The Bitter Truth.” While her decision to leave the music industry may come as a surprise to fans, it undoubtedly reflects a thoughtful and considered choice based on personal growth and changing circumstances.
