Paradise Lost releases new music video for “Silence Like the Grave” – Metal Insider
Paradise Lost has revealed the latest single and music video for “Silence Like the Grave” from their forthcoming album, Ascension, set to be released on September 19 through Nuclear Blast Records. This album, their seventeenth studio record, follows the success of their 2020 album Obsidian and was produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh with mixing and mastering by Lawrence Mackrory. The artwork for Ascension, featuring The Court of Death by George Frederic Watts, resonates with the album’s melancholic undertones.
The band recorded Ascension at Black Planet Studios in the UK and NBS/Wasteland Studios in Sweden. In support of this release, Paradise Lost will be performing at various festivals alongside King Diamond this summer, leading up to the “Ascension of Europe” tour in the fall, with tickets now on sale.
Nick Holmes, the band’s lead vocalist, describes Ascension as “a cavalcade of molten misery, a vigorous sorrow-filled stroll through a wicked world of glorious triumph and pitiful tragedy.”
The album features ten tracks, including “Serpent On The Cross,” “Tyrants Serenade,” “Salvation,” “Lay A Wreath Upon The World,” “Diluvium,” “Savage Days,” “Sirens,” “Deceivers,” and “The Precipice.”
With festival appearances lined up at events like Graspop Metal Meeting, Ilovaari Festival, Hard Rock Laager 2025, and more, Paradise Lost is set to captivate audiences with their dark, immersive soundscapes. Following their festival run, the band will embark on the “Ascension of Europe” tour, making stops in cities like Manchester, Wolverhampton, Newcastle Upon Tyne, and Glasgow, among others, before concluding with a show in Bradford, UK on December 13.
