Rolling Stones cancel summer tour, focus on NEW album
The legendary Rolling Stones are back in action, working on their upcoming album after canceling their summer tour plans. Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood have been hitting the recording studio since April. With 13 songs already laid down, discussions about the release date for their 25th studio album are underway.
Their last album, Hackney Diamonds, marked their return to original work after 18 years and soared straight to the top spot on the charts upon its release in 2023. The trio, with Mick and Keith at 81 and Ronnie at 78, have been hard at work in West London’s Metropolis Studios, along with drummer Steve Jordan.
Originally slated for a massive US tour in the UK and Europe this summer, scheduling conflicts led the Stones to pivot back to the studio to focus on their new album. This decision undoubtedly disappointed fans who were eagerly anticipating their live performances this year. The band is determined to deliver something special to make up for it.
The rock legends have reteamed with producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked on Hackney Diamonds, ensuring a familiar yet refreshed sound for their upcoming release. Keith, who typically resides in West Sussex, is temporarily staying at The Dorchester in London to be closer to the action at the studio, despite the hefty costs involved.
In honor of Ronnie’s 50th anniversary of joining the band, the Stones are planning to reissue a remastered edition of their 1976 Black and Blue album with two additional tracks this November. The iconic band is showing no signs of slowing down, keeping fans on their toes with new music and exciting projects.
The Rolling Stones have once again proven their enduring influence and creativity in the music industry. Fans can eagerly anticipate the release of their upcoming album and enjoy the familiar yet innovative sounds that have defined the band for decades. Stay tuned for more updates on the legendary Rolling Stones and their musical journey.
