Iconic rock band reunites for first live performance in over two decades
A legendary rock band is making a comeback after being apart for over 20 years. The Guess Who, known for their iconic hits from the ’70s, such as “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” and “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature,” will be reuniting for a special concert on the Rock Legends Cruise XIII. The cruise is set to sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, from February 23-27, 2026.
Joining The Guess Who on this exciting musical voyage will be other renowned acts like KISS rocker Gene Simmons, the Kevin Cronin Band, Loverboy, Jefferson Starship, and Blue Oyster Cult. Fans can secure their tickets for this unforgettable experience through the Royal Caribbean’s RLCXIII music cruise website, with prices starting at $3,264, plus applicable fees.
The band, with lead guitarist Bachman and singer-keyboardist Cummings at the helm, has left an indelible mark on the rock music scene with their distinct hard rock/psychedelic rock sound. These two talented musicians were the primary songwriters for The Guess Who and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame for their contributions.
In an interesting turn of events, Cummings took a decisive step last year by terminating certain rights agreements on Guess Who songs to prevent a new iteration of the band, featuring original members Jim Kale and Garry Peterson, from performing these iconic tracks live. This bold move resulted in Bachman and Cummings gaining control of The Guess Who name, allowing them to preserve the integrity and legacy of the band.
Though the duo last performed together as The Guess Who in 2003, they have sporadically come together under the moniker Bachman-Cummings. The 2026 edition of The Guess Who will feature an impressive lineup including Sean Fitzsimons on drums and vocals, Jeff Jones on bass and vocals, Nick Sinopoli on percussion and vocals, Tim Bovaconti on guitar and vocals, and Joe Augello on guitar and vocals.
In addition to their reunion, Bachman has also returned to Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO), embarking on a successful tour as BTO in 2023 with plans for additional dates later this year. The band even released a new song in April, paying homage to Cummings and Neil Young in the lyrics, signifying a renewed creative energy and spirit within the group.
The resurgence of The Guess Who and Bachman’s return to BTO mark a nostalgic and exciting period for classic rock fans, offering an opportunity to witness these legendary musicians back in action after a long hiatus. As the countdown to the Rock Legends Cruise XIII begins, anticipation is high for the electrifying performances and memorable moments sure to unfold on this musical voyage celebrating the timeless music of The Guess Who and their enduring legacy in rock history.
