The iconic rock band The Rolling Stones is reportedly back in the studio, working on new music after rumors circulated that their plans for a summer 2025 tour had been canceled. According to sources, the band, composed of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and drummer Steve Jordan, has been recording at Metropolis Studios in west London, following the success of their 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds.”

Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with artists such as Elton John, Pearl Jam, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lady Gaga, helmed the production of “Hackney Diamonds.” The album, the group’s first collection of original material in 18 years, skyrocketed to the number one spot upon its release and garnered praise from music critics.

Reviewing the album for The Independent, Mark Beaumont described how Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood delivered powerful and energetic guitar riffs, exhibiting a youthful energy that defies their age. Mick Jagger’s vocals were noted for retaining a youthful quality, belting out lyrics that touch on themes of nightlife, media scrutiny, and personal turmoil.

Despite initial plans to bring their US tour to the UK and Europe this summer, logistical challenges prevented the tour from materializing. Despite this setback, reports suggest that The Rolling Stones are collaborating again with Andrew Watt on their new material, hinting at future announcements of UK shows in the near future. Issues concerning venue availability and travel arrangements have been cited as possible challenges in the planning process.

Having formed six decades ago, The Rolling Stones continue to captivate audiences worldwide, recently grossing almost a quarter of a billion dollars from their North America tour, selling 880,000 tickets. However, the band has not performed in the UK since 2022, the year following the passing of their longtime drummer, Charlie Watts.

Fans are eager for surprises as they anticipate Ronnie Wood potentially joining Rod Stewart for a special appearance during the “Legends Slot” at the upcoming Glastonbury Festival. Stewart is set to perform on the Pyramid Stage, and the presence of Wood would undoubtedly thrill fans of both legendary artists.

With a rich musical history and a loyal fan base, The Rolling Stones’ return to the studio signals an exciting new chapter in their storied career. As they work on fresh material, audiences around the world eagerly await the release of their upcoming album and any subsequent live performances.
