Sorting Out the AC/DC Australian Tour Speculations
Rumors have been swirling in the past day and a half about a potential AC/DC tour in Australia for 2025. It seems that an official announcement regarding the tour might be made as early as next Monday.
Details shared by a caller on Melbourne’s 3AW radio station and sourced by 5AA in Adelaide hint at possible tour dates of 12 and 16 November for Melbourne and 30 November for Adelaide. The Adelaide date is speculated to coincide with the bp Adelaide Grand Final on Sunday, 30 November. This schedule would mean that the bp Adelaide Grand Final would feature a Saturday night performance by Lenny Kravitz followed by AC/DC on Sunday night.
While the four-day gap between the Melbourne dates may seem unusual, it mirrors AC/DC’s scheduling in European tours where they performed second shows in cities like Paris, Madrid, and Gothenburg with a similar gap. If this trend continues, AC/DC could potentially squeeze in three additional shows between the Melbourne and Adelaide dates, possibly two in Sydney and one in Brisbane. Perth might slot in either before Melbourne or more likely after Adelaide.
Although these are all speculations based on incomplete information, it is clear that AC/DC fans Down Under are eager for the band’s return. The last time AC/DC toured Australia was in 2015 with Brian Johnston. Prior tours featuring Johnston included “Rock or Bust” in 2015, “Black Ice” in 2010, “Stiff Upper Lip” in 2001, “Ballbreaker” in 1996, “The Razors Edge” in 1991, “Blow Up Your Video” in 1988, and “Back In Black” in 1981. Notably, Bon Scott’s final Australian performances were part of the ‘A Giant Dose of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ tour in 1977.
It is evident that Australian fans are eagerly anticipating AC/DC’s return to their shores. The potential tour dates have sparked excitement and speculation, with fans eagerly awaiting an official announcement. Until then, all we can do is wait and see if the puzzle of AC/DC’s Australian tour will be pieced together as anticipated.
