Excitement is palpable as Thrice’s statement hints at significant developments on the horizon: “Big things are coming. This is the first of many. We’re really excited to hit the road this fall with two phenomenal bands in @moderncolorband and @downwardgram.”
Established in 1998 by high school friends Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge, and Riley Breckenridge, Thrice gained recognition in the early 2000s for their unique fusion of post-hardcore intensity and melodic appeal showcased in albums like The Illusion of Safety and The Artist in the Ambulance.
Throughout their evolution as a band, Thrice has demonstrated a fearless commitment to experimentation, blending electronic, ambient, and progressive rock elements in well-received albums such as Vheissu, Beggars, and the innovative Alchemy Index series. Following a brief hiatus in 2012, Thrice made a triumphant return, defying conventions and exploring new sonic landscapes. Their single “Black Honey” (2016) from To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere charted at #11 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart and spent 32 weeks on that chart, reaching #37 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.
With more than two decades of musical history, Thrice sustains its influence as a contemporary force in rock music. Their recent releases, including Horizons/East, reflect a band deeply rooted in its punk-rock origins yet unafraid to push creative boundaries, delivering music that is both profound and impactful.
