This upcoming weekend offers a variety of exciting events for everyone to enjoy. The Warren Heritage Society will be hosting a make-your-own ice cream sundaes event on Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at 101 Chester St., Front Royal. A $5 donation will be required for participation in this fun activity. Following this, head over to the Main Street Gazebo to listen to guitarist Joe Martin’s performance at 7 p.m., part of the Blue Ridge Arts Council’s Concert Series.
If you’re looking for more live music, check out the Sunset Concert Series on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Bowman Library in Stephens City. Glen Shelter will be performing, and there will be food trucks available on-site for a delightful evening.
For a unique experience, visit the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) on Friday for MSV at Night. The Low Water Bridge Band will be performing at 5 and 6:30 p.m. Enjoy linocut carving with artist Kerry Stavely and browse works for sale by Horse & Hare. Explore the gardens and galleries after dark, and don’t miss the towering dinosaurs made from scrap metal in the gardens. Additionally, check out the American Folk: Tintype Portraits of Appalachian Musicians exhibition in the Glen Burnie House and stroll through the galleries. Pizza, beer, and wine will be available for purchase, so bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the music. Tickets for this event are $15 for adults, $10 for ages 13-18 and seniors 60 and older, and $4 for ages 5-12, with free admission for MSV members. Discounted advance tickets can be purchased online.
Music enthusiasts can attend the Shenandoah Guitar Festival at Shenandoah Conservatory’s Armstrong Concert Hall, 702 University Drive, Winchester. The festival kicks off on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with multiple Grammy Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin, named the 2020 Instrumentalist of the Year by Musical America, performing solo music and duets with Colin Davin. Tickets for this event are $28 and can be purchased online. On Saturday at 4 p.m., Cuban-born classical guitar virtuoso Rafael PadrĂ³n and JUNO Award-winning jazz guitarist Jocelyn Gould will take the stage. Tickets for this performance are $15 and available online.
For a fun Friday evening, head to Strasburg for the Front Porch Friday concert series at Strasburg Square, featuring a live performance by Streetwise Night from 7 to 9 p.m. Shenandoah Theatre will also be showcasing “Singin’ in the Rain” at the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre in Winchester, with performances scheduled Friday through Sunday and future dates in July. Lastly, enjoy live music at the Music in the Park series with Ron Hamrick performing on Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Rose Hill Park on Main Street, Berryville. With a variety of events to choose from, this weekend will be full of entertainment and enjoyment for everyone to indulge in.
