The audience at the Tons of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway, received an unexpected surprise on Thursday as they watched Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter perform. The iconic punk band brought out Billie Joe Armstrong, the frontman of Green Day, to join them in a rendition of their classic track “Anarchy in the UK.”

Green Day was scheduled to headline the festival later that evening, so Armstrong was already present, observing the performance from the side of the stage. Within just ninety seconds of the song’s commencement, Armstrong rushed onto the stage with a microphone, embracing Carter as they sang together. Carter excitedly introduced Armstrong to the crowd by exclaiming, “Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Billie Joe Armstrong!” The duo proceeded to sing in unison, with Armstrong actively engaging the audience, encouraging them to join in with the performance. His infectious energy was evident as he jumped around the stage, sporting a smile throughout the collaboration. Eventually, Armstrong made his exit, allowing the band to conclude the song on their own.

The ensuing fan-shot footage captured the entirety of this electrifying performance.

Currently, Green Day is embarked on a European tour, making appearances at various festivals. However, during a recent performance at the Hurricane Festival, Armstrong found himself in an altercation after being repeatedly sprayed with a water gun by a member of the crowd. Video recordings depict Armstrong pausing mid-performance of “Jesus of Suburbia,” confronting the individual and issuing a stern warning, “You f**king better quit it or I’ll beat your a**. You understand me?” Promptly he resumed the performance once the culprit desisted.

Following the European leg of the tour, Green Day will briefly visit North America before heading to South America. In September, the band is slated to perform at several prominent festivals in the US, including Riot Fest, Oceans Calling Festival, and Ohana Festival.

Concurrently, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter is gearing up for their inaugural North American tour. Dates for their tour can be found on their official website.
