Event promotes new interpretations of rock music – PUCRS

Rock music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy classic tunes from iconic bands like the Beatles and Queen, but in a unique and unexpected twist. The upcoming Rock Festival is set to showcase a refreshing interpretation of rock classics through performances by choirs and vocal groups. Scheduled to take place on October 21 (Saturday) at 8 pm in the PUCRS Hall of Acts, this event marks the inaugural edition of the festival, organized by the Institute for Social and Cultural Development, and is open to the public at no cost.

The lineup for the festival includes the PUCRS Choir alongside seven other vocal groups hailing from various regions of the state. These talented groups will treat the audience to renditions of popular hits by renowned national and international bands. Each performance is slated to last approximately 15 minutes, with the groups showcasing their vocal prowess in different formations, be it a capella, beatbox, or with instrumental accompaniment.
