The Back To The Beginning festival started today at 1:30 pm BST (8:30 am EST), with performances by Mastodon, Rival Sons, Anthrax, and Halestorm in the first 40 minutes. Fans had an idea of the set lengths from a posted list of set times, and each band performed approximately three songs, one of them being a Black Sabbath cover.

Before Gojira, each set was around 15 minutes, leading to the roughly three-song limit. Mastodon played “Black Tongue,” “Blood and Thunder,” and “Supernaut” (featuring Mario Duplantier on drums, along with Danny Carey and Eloy Casagrande). Rival Sons performed “Do Your Worst,” “Electric Funeral” (a Black Sabbath cover), and “Secrets.” Anthrax played “Indians,” “Into the Void” (a Black Sabbath cover), and an undecided third song. Halestorm closed out the first set with “Love Bites (So Do I),” “Rain Your Blood on Me,” and “Perry Mason” (an Ozzy Osbourne cover).

The celebration is ongoing, with performances and collaborations showcasing the talents of various artists as they pay tribute to Black Sabbath. These bands contribute to the lively atmosphere, creating an entertaining and engaging experience for viewers. Stay tuned for more performances and updates throughout the event.
