David Lee Roth is gearing up for a major comeback, with plans to embark on a summer tour that will kick off in Paso Robles, California, on July 22 and make stops in cities like Tampa, Atlantic City, Kansas City, and San Diego before culminating in Napa on September 14.

This tour marks a significant return for Roth, who previously announced his retirement in 2001, stating, “I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring. This is the first, and only, official announcement. You’ve got the news. Share it with the world.” However, the legendary rocker made a triumphant return at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland, earlier this year, marking his first solo show in five years. At the festival, Roth wowed the crowd with his classic hits from his Van Halen days, showing that he still has what it takes to rock the stage.

Roth’s musical journey began when he met Eddie and Alex Van Halen at Pasadena City College, leading to the formation of the band in 1974. Their self-titled debut album quickly rose up the charts, reaching number 19 on Billboard in 1978. After departing from Van Halen in 1985, Roth released his solo album “Eat ‘Em And Smile” in 1986. Twenty-one years later, he rejoined Van Halen for a highly successful reunion tour that grossed $93 million, treating fans to iconic hits like “Jump,” “Panama,” and “Hot For Teacher.”

The passing of Eddie Van Halen in 2020 was a heartbreaking moment for Roth, who reflected on their incredible journey with the simple yet poignant words, “What a Long Great Trip It’s Been.” During his recent show in Maryland, Roth humorously acknowledged his history of retirement announcements, quipping to the crowd, “We’ve reached the end of my first retirement. How many retirements did Rocky have, nine?”

For fans eager to catch Roth live in concert, all upcoming tour dates can be found on his official website. Make sure not to miss the chance to witness this rock legend back in action, delivering unforgettable performances that showcase his enduring talent and passion for music.
