Deftones has announced the upcoming release of their newest album, “Private Music,” their first in five years. The album is set to drop on August 22, courtesy of Reprise and Warner Records. The lead single from the album, titled “My Mind Is a Mountain,” was also shared by the band. The album, featuring 11 tracks, was co-produced by members Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado, along with Nick Raskulinecz, known for his previous work with the band on albums like 2010’s “Diamond Eyes” and 2012’s “Koi No Yokan.” Recording sessions for the album took place in Malibu and Joshua Tree, California, as well as Nashville.

Furthermore, Deftones will commemorate the album release with a performance in Vancouver on August 22, followed by tour stops in cities such as Minneapolis, Buffalo, Toronto, and Denver. Joining them for select shows will be Phantogram and Idles. “Private Music” serves as a continuation of their journey from their Grammy-nominated album “Ohms,” released in 2020.
