Motorcycle collision with boulder on Red Rock Loop results in one fatality

A tragic accident occurred on Red Rock Loop in Las Vegas, resulting in the death of a man after his motorcycle collided with a boulder, throwing him from the vehicle. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s traffic bureau reported that the incident took place just before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday between mile markers 8 and 9 on Scenic Loop Drive in the west valley.

According to investigators, witness statements and evidence at the scene indicated that the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man whose identity has not been disclosed, was traveling at a high speed in an eastward direction on Scenic Loop Drive. It was noted that the motorcyclist was unable to navigate a curve, leading to the collision with the boulder and the subsequent ejection from the motorcycle. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The LVMPD Traffic Investigation Section will be working alongside the Nevada State Patrol to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
