Siglos Releases Intense New Music Video ‘Piel Fria’
Siglos, an extreme metal group hailing from Los Angeles, has recently unveiled their latest music video for the song “Piel Fría,” taken from their well-received 2024 EP, Renacer De Las Cenizas. This release comes just before the band’s highly anticipated performance at the UK’s Bloodstock Festival and a special show in London supporting Ministry.
“Piel Fría” delves into the theme of light and darkness encountered during an Ayahuasca ceremony, a profound and spiritual experience that lead vocalist Pedro Sanchez describes with raw intensity. He reflects, “While there is love and light, it’s equally important to confront and understand your dark side. True healing demands courage to confront inner demons without judgment and to derive lessons from them.” Sanchez shares his encounter with what he describes as the “Cold Ones,” entities he discovered within himself, drawn by negative frequencies and actions.
The music video for “Piel Fría” is rich in symbolic imagery and carries a strong spiritual undercurrent, mirroring the band’s dark and immersive storytelling found in their past releases like “El Paso De Mis Ancestros” and “Soga De Los Muertos.” Siglos, founded by two-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Sin Quirin and vocalist Pedro Sanchez, merges black, doom, and industrial metal with elements of Mexican and Spanish culture.
Their sonic compositions strike a balance between aggression and introspection, cultivating a ritualistic ambiance that has garnered appreciation from both fans and peers in the heavy metal scene. Alongside guitarist Adrian Villanueva, bassist Juan Pina, and drummer Iorden Mitev, Siglos has crafted a formidable lineup that is set to make a mark on the global extreme metal stage.
The band’s upcoming appearance at Bloodstock Open Air and subsequent London gig supporting Ministry mark a significant milestone in Siglos’ journey from underground favorites to international contenders. Backed by a growing repertoire of acclaimed music videos, endorsements from metal luminaries such as Gary Holt and David Ellefson, Siglos is poised for a lasting impact on the music scene. “Piel Fría” is more than just a song; it represents a personal confrontation and a window into the band’s unwavering creative vision.
