Weekly Punk Vinyl Spotlight: Guttermouth, NOFX, Strung Out, 30FootFall & More

Let’s start with the exciting news that Guttermouth’s classic album “Musical Monkey” from 1997 is making a comeback. After 28 years since its original release, this album is being reissued for the first time ever. Limited to a yellow colored vinyl, this release marks the beginning of many more Guttermouth reissues in partnership with Rad Merch Co. Keep your eyes peeled for this release coming in October.
In other news, Fat Wreck Chords has been acquired by Hopeless Records, with three new releases announced to coincide with the sale. These include the 20th-anniversary edition of Strung Out’s “Exile in Oblivion,” remixed and remastered by Kyle Black, Bad Cop/Bad Cop’s new album “Lighten Up,” and the first installment of NOFX’s A-Z series featuring rarities, demos, and unreleased songs. Pre-orders for these records are now available in various regions, so make sure to grab your copies.
If that’s not enough, AFI’s “Answer That and Stay Fashionable” on Nitro Records received a surprise repress, along with 30FootFall’s “The Doppler Effect” in two new color variants. People of Punk Rock Records are also rolling out reissues of Craig’s Brother’s albums and Downstater’s “Mourning Vibes II EP.” And let’s not forget the four reissues of Montreal ska-punks Subb, each limited to only 100 copies.
Mom’s Basement Records has some exciting releases, including The Smelters’ 6-song CD EP, Sunshine Overload’s debut LP on orange vinyl, and a 15th-anniversary reissue of The Dopamines’ “Expect the Worst.” The Punk Rock Museum is also releasing Rise Against’s original Transistor Revolt demo on multiple color variants, exclusively available through their webstore.
SBAM Records is gearing up to release SLACKRR’s new LP and Dave Hause’s new album, with pre-orders currently live. Little Rocket Records has unearthed Leatherface’s long-lost 90s BBC John Peel Sessions for the first time officially. And if you’re a fan of Million Dead, their debut album “A Song To Ruin” is being released on vinyl, along with the reissue of “Harmony No Harmony.”
