New Hardcore & Punk Rock Releases: July 12-15
Swedish hardcore group Times Of Desperation has unveiled a fierce new track called “Denied,” the first song off their upcoming EP Vegan Manifesto, hitting shelves on September 1st. The tune is a brutal 2:32 demonstration of edgy metalcore, drawing on the metallic hardcore style of the ’90s but with a contemporary twist — cutting, streamlined, and unrelentingly angry.
With powerful lyrics like “Fire hailing from the skies, pleads for mercy towards heaven,” the track boldly addresses genocide and silence as complicit partners. It takes a direct stab at Zionist violence and settler colonialism, condemning those who manipulate religion and historical burdens. The forceful denunciation of tyranny and the repeated mentions of genocide leave no room for misinterpretation — this is a direct call to action.
Their EP Vegan Manifesto will be available on vinyl in two environmentally-friendly color variations, with an exclusive collector’s edition offering both. The artwork for the EP is designed by Jacob Bondesson and will be released through Genet Records, Bitter Melody Records, and Blood Will Tell.
On the other side of the spectrum, Santa Cruz’s hardcore group Drain is giving fans a taste of their upcoming record with the opening track, “Stealing Happiness From Tomorrow.” This short, lively, and energetically bouncy tune sets the tone for their new album, …Is Your Friend, scheduled for release on November 7 via Epitaph. Unlike their previous release, “Nights Like These,” which played up sentimentality and live show vibes, this new track maintains a raw and restless edge.
Emo rock band Kerosene Heights has dropped “Forget It,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Blame It on the Weather. The song delves into themes of regret and distance, weaving a story of emotion without overdramatizing it. With production and mixing by Billy Mannino and mastering by Mike Kalajian, “Forget It” showcases Chance Smith’s controlled vocals against a backdrop of tension.
Anxious Arms has entered the scene with their new single “Nein,” released worldwide through Sunday Drive Records. After a period of secretive songwriting and recording, this track marks a fresh start for the Sacramento-based band.
Not to be outdone, Newcastle’s hardcore outfit Feel The Pain is gearing up to release their debut 12″ EP World In Two this August, delivering six tracks of groove-filled, energizing hardcore. Produced by Elliott Gallart, the EP promises a blend of swaggering two-step breaks, bone-crushing mosh parts, and an undeniable sense of urgency.
In addition, Hot Mulligan has unveiled their latest single “Prototheme,” a fiery blend of post-hardcore intensity and melodic sensibility. Produced by Brett Romnes, this track showcases the band at their most emotionally charged yet, hinting at potential upcoming releases.
With exciting releases and reissues from multiple bands and labels, the hardcore and punk rock scenes are buzzing with anticipation for the creative energy and raw power these artists are set to unleash. As fans eagerly await the arrival of new music and fresh recordings, there’s no denying the passion and dedication driving these musicians forward in their respective genres.
