George Stephanopoulos’ children are dedicating some of their vacation time to support a meaningful cause. The daughters of the Good Morning America host and his wife Ali Wentworth recently participated in the Joyful Heart Foundation’s 6th Annual Beach Walk event alongside their mother. The event was organized by Mariska Hargitay, the foundation’s founder.

The former Clinton White House Communications Director and the author of Ali’s Well That Ends Well have been married since 2001 and are proud parents to daughters Elliott, 22, and Harper, 20. Ali shared photos of the annual event on Instagram, shedding light on its purpose to raise awareness of the backlog of untested rape kits and provide support to victims of sexual assault. The pictures captured her with Mariska, her longtime best friend, and depicted the group participating in the walk.

Elliott, who recently graduated from Brown University, and Harper, a rising junior at Vanderbilt University, joined their mom and family friends at the event. Among the attendees were notable figures like CBS correspondent Norah O’Donnell and fashion designer Stella McCartney. Through her Instagram post, Ali emphasized the importance of fundraising and raising awareness for the Joyful Heart Foundation’s cause, aiming to end the backlog of untested rape kits and advocate for victims of sexual assault while fostering changes in related policies.

The event, which took place in the Hamptons, drew positive feedback from fans who commented on the post, expressing admiration for the cause and the images shared. The community’s outpouring of support echoed the sentiment that raising funds for such a significant cause is meaningful and impactful. Last year, Mariska spoke candidly about her personal experience with sexual assault in an essay she penned for People, reflecting on how it motivated her to establish The Joyful Heart Foundation. She recounted a traumatic encounter that left her feeling powerless and sparked her commitment to aiding others who have experienced similar trauma.

By sharing their involvement in the Joyful Heart Foundation’s Beach Walk event, George Stephanopoulos’ family continues to demonstrate their dedication to supporting survivors of sexual assault and advocating for change. Through their participation, they contribute to raising awareness and funds for organizations like The Joyful Heart Foundation, making a difference in the lives of those affected by these significant issues.
