Jangsu County disputes rumors of Taeyeon appearing at local festival
The county of Jangsu has recently addressed the circulating rumors about Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation performing at their upcoming ‘Hanwoo and Apple Festival.’ Through an official statement on July 15, they clarified that Taeyeon was never officially confirmed to attend the event.
According to the county, Taeyeon was initially being considered for the opening act, but unfortunately, the booking did not materialize. The confusion arose from a leaked draft of the event poster and performer list, which led to widespread misinterpretation and excitement among fans. In response to the mix-up, Jangsu County expressed their regrets and assured the public that they would be implementing stricter event management protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Following the leak of the draft poster, speculations surrounding Taeyeon’s presence at the festival began to gain traction. Many fans believed she would be headlining the celebratory concert on September 19 as part of the 2025 ‘Hanwoo and Apple Festival.’ However, SM Entertainment promptly refuted these claims, emphasizing that Taeyeon had not received any offer to perform at the event and urged fans not to be misled by false information.
The confusion surrounding Taeyeon’s potential appearance seems to have stemmed from a case of mistaken identity with another singer sharing the same name. While trot singer Kim Taeyeon was reportedly set to attend the festival, there has been no official confirmation from Jangsu County regarding her involvement.
The ‘2025 Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival’ is scheduled to take place from September 18 to 21 at Uiam Park and Jangsu Nuri Park. Despite the initial buzz surrounding Taeyeon’s supposed performance, it has been clarified that she will not be part of the event lineup.
In closing, Jangsu County affirmed their commitment to ensuring accurate communication and transparency in their event planning processes. By learning from this incident and taking proactive measures to verify performer information, they aim to prevent any future misunderstandings and disappointments among festival attendees. This serves as a valuable lesson in the importance of clear and reliable communication in the realm of event management to avoid unnecessary confusion and false expectations.
